The automated delivery system consists of 3 primary components:
- Cylindrical water-proof bin for product storage
- Flexible motor-driven screw auger for product delivery
- Start/stop unit with timer for automation
The water-proof bin can be top-loaded quickly from a 500 pound super-sack package held aloft by a forklift or by emptying 20 pound bags.
The flexible auger, reaching from the storage bin to the final discharge point, allows twisting and winding so that hard to access discharge points can usually be reached. Systems are successfully operating that discharge into the weigh hopper or truck inlet chute.
The system has proven to supply a steady flow rate of chips allowing use of a time metric method for metering the chips into the process accurately and automatically. Batch weights can be automatically printed on truck tickets.
